So we are doing this v2 because of the resolution, I couldn’t check it properly the other day. A little corrections in the op/ed but that’s all. Also, there are a few more things I’d like to point out:
1. We will not do all the signs, the USELESS ones that is. Like, repeated shit and stuff. It’s only a waste of :effort: and time to typeset “Shizu’s here” “Shizu’s head” and stuff like that every 5 mins.
2. The ads were left on the v1 unintentionally. But we left in this on purpose because it’s :effort: to remove it and fix the timing. And of course, you guys LOVE Japan and all so how couldn’t we have left them in? ┐(￣ー￣)┌
3. There will not be any SD release for this one. It’s pretty close to SD.
4. This file size is a result of CRF. For the noobs who do not know what CRF is, I’ll explain it here in easiest way possible: There are three ways to control the file size in x264 encoding: 1. With specified bitrate 2. CRF; 3. Not worth explaining, nor I know lololol; With specified bitrate, you’d be able to gain the desired file size, but what if that episode has more detail than the file size you are stuffing it in? Let us suppose that if I compress nixx`, he’d be 9001mb when compressed. But if you stuff him in 220mb, figure out what will happen.
While on the other hand, CRF compression freely expands according to the details in the video and through with it, you are able to achieve highest possible quality within reasonable file size. So basically, the more the details there are, the more it’d expand and the file size would increase.

As stated above, those commercials were TOTALLY unintentional. I started working on it at 3am and was up till 12pm until it was released, so you should figure out how would I have been at that moment. I made the chapters so you could jump to part two instead of commercials. It’s not that big of a deal anyway like people have made it.
All I know is that having a resolution slightly above 848×480 means it will probably lag like shit here.

I am sorry about that, there will probably be encoded unofficial xvid releases on Nyaatorrents. You could use that as well. It’s a pity how we can’t do 480p as it’s :effiort:

Firstly, thanks for the v2. Your :effort: is much appreciated.
Secondly, and apologies for being off-topic, has anyone else been having problems with Ichiban episodes 1 & 2 (BD)? The clean OP & ED play perfectly well, but the episodes themselves simply won’t open and cause MPC-HC to hang. The files don’t appear to be corrupted as md5 & CRC check out OK.
@kojika, no I have not had any problems playing the ichiban episodes
kojika, you should probably enable FLAC in ffdshow audio decoder confuguration (codec – FLAC – change “disabled” to “libavcodec”).
You can access it by double-clicking on its icon in system tray while playing some other video (a blue icon with FFa letters on it).
And no, I don’t know, why are op/ed files watchable with disabled FLAC.

Please remove the commericals. Just figure out how long they are, they reduce the subs by that amount once it’s removed, it can’t be that much effort.

You do realize it takes less then 15 minutes to remove the adds and retime the subs, right? mkvmerge and Aegisubs…heard of them?
Hell, you don’t even need Aegisub. Just split the file using mkv at the points where the adds start and stop, delete those segments, and then append the remaning ones together. You won’t even need to re-time the subs. Come on, even a monkey could do it. You want ME to do it?

Thanks for the feedback re Ichiban Blu-ray eps. As always, just when you think your PC is set up to play anything thrown at it, along comes a file it doesn’t like. I have recently been using madFLAC as it coped better with 24-bit FLAC audio, but for some reason had compatibility issues with these files. Reverting back to ffdshow did the trick.
